Pleasantly plump teenager Tracy Turnblad auditions to be on Baltimore's most popular dance show - The Corny Collins Show - and lands a prime spot. Through her newfound fame, she becomes determined to help her friends and end the racial segregation that has been a staple of the show.

Hollywood Suite’s Movie Madness On Broadway

The votes have been counted, and Hairspray has won Hollywood Suite’s Movie Madness tournament for the best stage-to-screen adaptation. This cinematic version of the Broadway musical outlasted the competition to claim the top spot. As a result of the vote, the film will return to the big screen this July, screening at select Canadian theatres. Audiences can catch Tracy Turnblad and the rest of the cast back in theatres to experience the choreography, music, and story in a full cinematic format.
