The Big Screen
The Big Screen auditorium is the heart of the Paramount. Boasting a massive 450+ seat capacity, this space is equipped with a state-of-the-art 4K laser projector and 5.1 surround sound for crystal-clear quality. The elevated stage and customizable lighting allow you to transition seamlessly from a film screening to a live Q&A or award ceremony.

The Silver Screen

Rental Rates
Pricing depends on auditorium, day, time, staffing and tech needs. Prime-time rates apply Thursday–Sunday after 4 PM, and all day Saturday.
Small Bookings (under 25 people)
Hosting something smaller? Birthday parties, gaming parties, and intimate screenings under 25 guests are welcome on a limited basis.

Q – What is your house sound & lighting systems?

Q – Why do you charge per ticket fees for ticketed events?
A – This fee is added to the base rental rate to help cover variable operating costs that scale with attendance, including required event staffing, cleaning, maintenance, and supplies. It ensures the theatre can meet operational needs for events that generate revenue through ticket sales while maintaining a safe and well-managed venue.

Q – Do you offer non-profit or school rates?
A – Yes, non-profit or school rates can be applied for non-prime time dates. A valid NFP number is required upon booking.
Q – Do you do small bookings or birthday party rentals?
A – Yes, though we have limited availability. Review Small Booking information and make a request!
Q – What are your concession rates?
Q – Do you offer a marketing package for rental events?
A – We do! Our marketing package includes two features in our newsletter, inclusion in our monthly marquee lineup calendar or dedicated posts on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Please note: The Kamloops Film Society reserves the right to decline promotion for any event that does not align with our theatre values or the interests of our audience.
Q – Can I serve liquor at my rental event?
A –Yes! While we finalize our permanent license, we host events via a Special Event Permit (SEP). We provide a Serving It Right certified staff member for your event; please note that permit fees and staffing costs will be added to the rental agreement.
Q – Do you have on-site parking?
A – While we do not have a private lot, there is ample street parking and several public parkades within walking distance of the theatre.
Q – Is your venue accessible?
A – While the Paramount theatre, offers accessible seating and washrooms, the original architecture of the historic 1955 landmark, may present certain accessibility limitations. Please call to inquire about your specific needs.
Q – Can I bring outside food for my event?
A – Absolutely. We welcome off-site catering for items not sold at our concession (such as meals or specialty snacks). Please note that external food fees apply, and outside popcorn or soft drinks are not permitted. See our concession menu here
Q – What is your cancellation and refund policy?
A – Plans change — we get it. As a non-profit, rental income supports our community programming, so our policy balances flexibility with the impact of late cancellations. Read our Rental Cancellation and Refund Policy here.
Q – What forms of payment do you accept?
A – We accept payments through eTransfer, cheques, cash, and credit cards.
