Rocky Horror Picture Show 50th Anniversary

Do the time warp with the 1975 cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”!
Sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.”
50 years after its premiere, The Rocky Horror Picture Show (TRHPS) is the longest-running theatrical release in film history and the film continues to be shown with a tradition of audience participation.
Audience Participation.
While the film is excessive and wild, the theatre is a safe space and your level of participation is up to you. Just be aware that your friendly neighbours may be die-hard fans and know when it’s their turn to yell out and get involved in the show. Feel free to join in at your own pace, just make sure you’re following the script, no one wants angry notes from the Stage Manager.
Dress to Impress.
Whatever that means to you, just go for it. Shed your inhibitions and let loose, much like the characters on screen. Gowns, garters, leather and lace!
If you are dressing up for the show, don’t slag other people’s costumes off. Everyone has the right to wear whatever they wish.
Callbacks
Part of a Rocky screening is talking back to the film, yelling out, singing, etc – all the stuff that is generally frowned upon in regular film screenings. But don’t go shouting out ‘slut’ to Janet and ‘asshole’ to Brad every single time their names are said by other characters or during the songs, you’ll look like an idiot.
