Help us keep the reels turning at the Paramount!

The Kamloops Film Society is seeking expressions of interest for community leaders to join our Board of Directors.

We operate under a governance model with working components. This means you will provide high-level strategic oversight while occasionally rolling up your sleeves to support our dedicated staff and committees.

Governance: attending bi-monthly board meetings
Hands-on support: participating in a board sub-committee
Ambassadorship: Representing the KFS at festivals, screenings, and community partner events.

Particular Needs of the Board Include:

Fundraising and development: Leading high-impact initiatives like our ’30 for 30’ campaign, securing corporate sponsorships or identifying private donor opportunities.
HR & Employment Law: Advising on personnel policies, organizational culture, and legal compliance as our team grows.
Finance & Accounting: Overseeing budgeting and financial reporting

Commitment:
– 2-year term
– Bi-monthly board meetings plus committee work (approximately 6-8 hrs/bi-monthly)

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion:

The KFS is committed to building a board that reflects the diversity of the Kamloops community. We strongly encourage applications from Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and individuals from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
